Team India lost the advantage of toss as Proteas heading toward big score after poor start

Team India always boast of their No.1 ranking but I must say they don't play consistently like No.1 team because No.1 team always capitalize on good start and Team India failed to do so at Newlands, Capetown in 3rd and final test match against Proteas.

MS Dhoni finally found luck on his side in New Year as he won the toss in decisive final test match and decided to put Proteas into bat in testing conditions. Surprisingly, Newlands pitch is have green tinge and it looked like it will favour Team India's swing bowlers. In a rain interrupted day, decision proved correct when 2 wickets of Proteas in Smith and Petersen fell early.  Zaheer Khan who picked up Smith 6th time in test matches and Ishant Sharma got the wicket of Alviro Petersen.. But once again Team India failed to capitalize on good start as Hashim Amla and Kallis did good partnership gave their innings some solidity with great counter-attacking batting. Once again Hashim Amla proved India's nemesis as he scored his runs freely after slow start and put India on to the back-foot. Finally Amla got out on personal score of 69 runs as he tried to pull Sreesanth but failed to clear the rope and caught at deep square leg by Pujara. It looked like Team India getting into the match once again but DeVilliers and Kallis did fantastic partnership and pour the water on Indian hopes. DeVilliers got out on personal score of 26 and once again it was Sreesanth who picked up the wicket.

But after this  wicket Kallis and Prince didn't allow any further damage to the Porteas innings as they safely negotiated the rest of the day as they ended the day on 232 for 4 which I feel is pretty good platform for building big score as conditions will not be testing today like it was yesterday and batting will become easy on this track. Kallis is on verge of scoring one more century against India and he will certainly cross the 3 figure mark today as he is just 19 runs away from the landmark. Prince is also looking comfortable and I feel it will be a high scoring day and Indian have to chase the leather for most part of the day. I feel Indian bowlers didn't bowl consistently on one line as too many freebies given to Proteas on leg stump. Indian bowlers erred in line many times and paid the penalty. I believe if, South Africa had fielded then they would have got Team India all-out in those conditions on Day-1 itself. I feel test match is over as Proteas are heading towards big score and they have the bowlers in Steyn, Kallis, Morkel and Tsotsobe to put India on back-foot easily.

So advantage of winning toss is already lost and defeat in this test match is looming large over the head of Team India because our top-order is not scoring runs in this series. Proteas have turned the match in their favour by batting with girt and determination.
