MAN TO WATCH

JOHDAV
John Davison
John Davison is a middle-order batsman and right-arm spinner who has been at the heart of the Canadian national side for almost a decade.   He played in the Canadian side that finished third in the 2001 and 2005 ICC Trophies, but he hit the headlines in the 2003 World Cup when he stunned the West Indies with the fastest World Cup century in history, clubbing half a dozen sixes in a brilliant 111. He followed this up with the third-fastest World Cup fifty against New Zealand, making most runs and taking most wickets for Canada in the tournament. A bristling 52 from 31 balls against New Zealand in the 2007 World Cup underlined his class. He is backbone of Canadian batting and he is most experienced player in Canadian team. He is indeed the man to watch out in this World Cup as well.
Career-best performance:
Batting: 111  v/s West Indies at Centurion in 2003
Bowling: 15-3 v/s Kenya at Capetown in 2003
They are one of the ICC associate country which is playing cricket since 1827. Canadian team comprise of multi-racial and multi-lingual players. Most of its players are from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Ashish Bagai who is captain of the side is also India born Canadian resident. Their coach Pubudu Dassanayake is of Sri Lankan origin. In this edition of the World Cup Canada will be highly benefit from the experience of its Asian players. They also have the services of their star player John Davison who earlier pulled out of the World Cup squad due to some dispute with the board. Davison is in the squad and he will definitely guide this young team to perform well in International arena. There is no expectations from Canada to reach QFs but they are certainly capable of pulling one or two upsets in this World Cup.
Key Players for Canada: John Davison, Ashish Bagai, Rizwan Cheema, Khurram Chohan, and Hiral Patel
